03E09 - Red Moon

Two small town sheriff's deputies, Nelson Capel and Lance Connor, as well as Keeley Farlowe (fiancée of EMT Todd Johnson, cousin of Sheriff Mullery), are all discovered dead. They were murdered in different ways at the olive plantation where Johnson lived with Farlowe and her wheelchair-ridden uncle, Joe Hunnicker. "Clairvoyant" astrologer Ellis Mars warns the murderer will strike again. Farlowe's former admirer, trucker Gregor Hobart, possibly last to see her alive (aside from her killer) claims he defended her against horny cook Rusty Moore. The bullet links the case to several other killings. A button points to the fire department, where only one man (Kitchen) didn't report for duty on the night in question but it is a red herring. Sheriff Mullery is fatally shot and Mars volunteers as "psychic help", concluding a werewolf attack. Patrick Jane sets a successful trap to catch the killer but ends up feeling burned out.
